Sometimes it takes more than one
Set-ups for hoof trimming are different and depends on the farm lay-out, the amount of cows and accessibility to the area where the trimming will take place etc. This means that hoof trimmers are flexible and adaptable to all most any situation. This picture was taken on a Danish dairy farm with 450 cows. On the actual day they were trimmed by 3 chutes with individual lead-in pens creating a steady, easy and low stress cow flow. This herd is trimmed every 4 month – So sometimes it might take more than one chute to get the job done.
